NEW YORK, NY – Actor, comedian extraordinaire Eddie Murphy hosted Saturday Night Live’s final show of 2019 that brought huge dividends not only for Murphy but the network as well. According to the Nielsen numbers, it was the highest rated and most watched episode of SNL since May 2017.
Murphy brought back and introduced to some, his most memorable characters on the show. From Mister Robertson, to Buckwheat, to Velvet Jones to name a few, it was one episode for the ages.
Many guest appeared for Murphy’s episode including Dave Chappelle, Tracy Morgon, Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph, Alec Baldwin, and musical guest Lizzo.
Murphy has had a successful 2019 with the filming and release of “Dolemite Is My Name“, and he recently wrapped up “Coming To America 2”. He also informed audiences that he is making a return to stand-up comedy, something he hasn’t done in over 35 years.
