LOS ANGELES — The epic showdown had a playoff type intensity leading up to the big game between the Lakers and Clippers. In a sold out Staples Center, fans and stars lined the court that included Jay-Z with his daughter Blue Ivy, John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen, Tony Gonzalez, 2Chainz to name few.
The game meant more for the Lakers and it showed especially down the stretch in the final quarter as the team locked in defensively in order to prevent the Clippers hot hands from scoring.
The Lakers prevailed 112-103 over the Clippers as we witnessed an epic battle between two heavyweight teams in the NBA.
Lebron James and Anthony Davis combined for 58 points, and ironically Paul George and Kawhi Leonard combined for 58 points in a losing effort. Avery Bradley finished with 24 points and shot 50% from three point range.
The Lakers host the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday at Staples Center, and the Clippers will travel to San Francisco to face the Golden State Warriors.
